Masrath Alam issue to Centre :Jammu and Kashmir government submits detailed report
Jammu: The Jammu and kashmir government on Wed sent an in depth report back to the Centre on the controversial release of separatist leader Masarat Alam, on a daily basis once BJP sent a stern message to its alliance partner PDP.
“Yes, we’ve sent an in depth report back to MHA (with clarification),” a senior officer of State Home department same in Jammu on Wed night.
This comes once Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, UN agency had declared that the NDA government’s prime priority was national security and not continuance of the authorities, had sought-after a correct clarification from J&K dispensation spoken language he wasn’t glad with the report of the state home department on Alam’s unleash.
The release of Alam, the mastermind behind the 2008-10 stone-pelting agitation in Srinagar, triggered a massive uproar in the country with calls from several quarters for his re-arrest.
“The home ministry has sought additional information (about the release of Masarat Alam). The situation is unclear, because, we have not received any further additional information,” Union Minister of State for Home Kiran Rijiju said in Delhi.
Sayeed, who is in the eye of a political storm over the issue, had directed both the state home department and the police chief to ensure that a comprehensive report is sent to the home ministry.
Under fire for Alam’s release, the Jammu and Kashmir government on Tuesday announced that there would be no further release of militants or political prisoners.
Defending the decision to release Alam, a senior official had said, “There is a limit to detaining someone under PSA. You can have maximum six months and one time more.”
